Dear Friend,

Dear Friend,

Over the last 24 hours, thousands of healthcare workers and our allies signed the SEIUvoice letter to stop Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's cuts to homecare. The incredible response shows we can make President Obama's call to come together a reality. We can overcome the worst economic crisis in decades.

But we need even more concerned citizens to add their voice by Saturday when thousands of homecare workers will rally against the cuts. If you haven't signed the petition, will you click below to add your name?  And if you've taken that step, will you copy the note below and forward it to your friends and family, asking them to do the same? Sign the petition, here:

Homecare workers help seniors and people with disabilities live safely in the dignity of their own homes. Governor Schwarzenegger wants to cut health benefits for many of them and send them back to minimum wage. Many seniors and people with disabilities could lose hours of needed care or lose their caregiver altogether.

So please sign the petition if you haven't already by clicking here:

P.S. Here's the note you can send to your friends and family to ask them to sign too:

Dear Friend,

President Barack Obama called on our nation to come together and overcome the worst economic crisis in decades. But here in California, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's proposed budget cuts will do just the opposite.

Thousands of homecare workers will rally this Saturday to pressure the Governor to stop cuts to their services that help seniors and people with disabilities live safely in the dignity of their own homes.

Will you support this important grassroots movement by signing a petition urging Gov. Schwarzenegger to stop the proposed cuts?  I've already added my name; it only takes a moment and could make a huge difference:

Governor Schwarzenneger's cuts will reduce homecare workers' wages to minimum wage and leave many of them without health benefits. The Governor would also reduce the hours of needed care that many seniors and people with disabilities receive. Homecare consumers could well be left with a choice between a trip to the doctor or a prepared meal.

Thanks

Sincerely,
Sal Rosselli, President
