Steward Training Part 1:

Participants will discuss goals and strategies for building union power, become familiar with the role and responsibilities of stewards, learn skills to involve more members in union activities and learn how to organize members around issues that are important to those who work in healthcare.

Steward Training Part 2:

Participants will discuss the legal rights of stewards and practice skills in understanding a contract, grievance handling, meeting with management and building support for the union.

Both Parts 1 & 2 are required, but they do not need to be taken in order.

Note: these classes are for UHW members only.

*With advance notice, licensed childcare will be provided for Saturday or evening classes whenever possible. When registering, members needing childcare must indicate how many children and their ages.
