Stonewall Seder
Sunday, March 30 5:00 —8:00 pm
HRC Equality Center
1640 Rhode Island Avenue NW

What is the quintessentially Jewish experience in the United States that resonates so strongly with the LGBT community? The Passover Seder.

A unique ritual specifically celebrating the liberation of the Jewish people from slavery in Egypt, the Seder also honors universal principles of liberty and freedom. At the Seder table, we are reminded that there are still groups of people who are routinely denied basic freedoms and rights.

Celebrate the large strides that the LGBT community has made over the past 30 years and recognize the work yet to be done for full liberation. Join the Washington DCJCC’s Kurlander Program for Gay & Lesbian Outreach and Engagement (GLOE), the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and the Metro DC GLBT Community Center in a joint Stonewall Seder.

Part ritual, part celebration, part feast, and part conversation, our Stonewall Seder will raise your awareness about LGBT issues and concerns while participating in the timeless ceremonial Seder tradition. All are welcome, and we strongly encourage open discussion and conversation.
