Greetings,
This week presents another critical opportunity
to stand up for children and families and demand a responsible
answer to the state budget problems that threaten education,
health and human services.
You're invited to join Lutheran
Advocacy-Illinois and the Responsible Budget Coalition
(RBC) for a lobby day kick-off at the State Capitol in
Springfield on Thursday, Oct. 15, beginning at noon. The event
will be a chance to demonstrate to legislators that families and
communities remain focused on the need for a responsible,
balanced budget solution that will support critical programs and
services. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet
with legislators individually and encourage them to support
legislation that generates new revenue, increases
accountability, and provides tax relief for working families.
The event takes place as legislators return to the Capitol
for their veto session, and it follows the recent RBC campaign
kickoff event. Thanks to all of you who came out and made that
day a success – helping to underscore the
powerful message that we all do better with a responsible
budget.
To attend the lobby day, please RSVP to Stephen Taylor at stephen.taylor@lssi.org
or 847-635-4653.
