Greetings,

Candle and Flashlight Vigils

Monday night June 29 across Illinois

to mark the end of the Fiscal Year!

Carbondale

Tonight, Mon, Jun 29, 7-10pm, a silent vigil will be held at Carbondale (corner of Illinois & Main St at Public Square).  This is regarding the lack of state budget.  Wear black clothing & bring a flashlight (instead of candle).  This coincides with vigils to be held in Springfield & Chicago

Please consider coming to let the So IL Community, and our legislators, know the outrage we, as the social service community, have regarding the lack of an adequate budget for those in need.

TAKE ACTION NOW!

Continue Fighting to Prevent a Doomsday Budget: Call your Legislators Today!

There is still time to prevent the impending doomsday budget, which includes massive cuts to human services, education, and health care. Call your state legislators today (and everyday!) to let them know that you support an income tax increase.

If you do not know your state legislators, go to htpp://www.lutheranadvocacy.org and go to Find Your Elected Officials for the phone numbers.  Look for the “state” tab.
