Advocacy in Action

"We are responsible for giving voice to those who are not heard, for seeking social justice and for empowering people."

As one of LSI’s core values, advocacy is an important part of what we do. We are all responsible for giving a voice to those who are not heard, for seeking social justice and for empowering people. LSI advocates for the most vulnerable people in Iowa  the single mother just getting by on minimum wage, the retiree trying to afford medication on only Medicaid and the husband struggling to find work and feed his family. It is the voice of volunteers that support LSI’s mission of “service to all” that make a difference in the lives of Iowa’s children, families and individuals. Through our advocacy and social services, LSI and you empower individuals to become self-sufficient.

The use of this service is made possible through a grant from the ELCA. Thank you!
