Greetings,
The LPPO’s community partner, Fuse Washington, has
worked with many of Washington's leading non-profits to bring
you the Washington Ballot Guide - a highly informed
recommendation about the measures on your ballot.

this guide to your friends and family. Word of mouth (or a forwarded email) is the
most powerful tool in politics.
Having
troubles finding I-1033 on the ballot?
The layout of
the King County ballots puts I-1033 into the bottom, left-hand
corner of the first page, immediately below the

Exposing Washington’s Dirty Secret:
Community Forum
Thursday, October

University of Washington, Kane Hall

Washington has a dirty little
secret: a fifth of our electricity comes from dirty
coal, and it doesn't come cheap. Coal mining destroys the land and our
communities and burning coal pollutes our air and
water here in Washington.
It's time for citizens across the region to demand a
coal-free Northwest.
This community
forum will discuss how Washington State's dependence on coal
power harms the health, environment and lives of communities
across the Northwest.
Hear powerful personal stories about the devastating
impacts of the nation's biggest coal mine, the Powder River
Basin, from LJ Turner, a rancher from Wyoming and other guest
speakers from around the region. A fifth of Washington's electricity comes
from coal mined from the Powder River Basin region of Montana
and Wyoming.
From the mine to the plant, coal is our
dirtiest energy source. It destroys the land, poisons our
communities and is our largest single source of global warming
pollution. Continuing our dependence on coal chains us to dirty
energy and prevents us from making the changes we need to bring
about a clean, secure energy future.
RSVP for this regional
speaker tour and monumental event that will connect
Washington's coal-free supporters with those in Montana and
Wyoming:
