Greetings,

Two Exciting Events

As the days begin to get cooler, we intend to heat things back up with two events over the next few weeks.  We will be holding two press conferences with some really exciting news we cannot wait to share with all of you.  We would really like it if all of you came so consider yourselves invited!

You might remember last fall we had an extremely successful campaign focused around "Got Health Care" that we did with Governor O'Malley and the Baltimore Ravens to reach out to uninsured folks in the Baltimore area.  Well, we are going to try to replicate that triumph with a new radio ad in the Metropolitan DC area.  The ad will again feature Governor O'Malley as well as Washington Redskins Pro Bowl Lineman Chris Samuels.  This new outreach campaign kickoff will be this coming Tuesday October 13 in Prince George's County.

Then, on Monday October 26 we will have an event with Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon and Council President Rawlings-Blake to celebrate over 10,000 newly enrolled people in Baltimore City on the Medicaid program!  Below are the details for each event, but we would really like to see all of you out there, especially as you are the people that made all of this possible.

Governor O'Malley and Washington Redskins Radio Launch

1pm at Eleanor Roosevelt High School

7601 Hanover Parkway

Greenbelt, MD 20770

Expansion Celebration with Mayor Dixon and Council President Rawlings-Blake

11am at St. Mary's Catholic Church

Get Involved in Cyberspace

We have a couple of new things to report that we are trying now in the world of cyberspace.  Health Care for All now is in the world of Facebook, and without any real promotion already has about 350 fans.  So, if you use this website, or were looking for an excuse to get on, sign up and become a fan of MD Health Care for All by clicking here.

Our website has also been updated to help capture all of your passion.  When we talk about health care reform, it's easy to get lost in the details and jargon. At Health Care for All, the stories of Marylanders affected by health care policies are most important. Please tell us your story today and help put a face and voice to a difficult and often complex policy issue.

We respect your privacy. Any information shared below is kept confidential. However, since news reporters and policy makers find the stories useful to better illustrate the everyday struggles that Americans face concerning their health care, we may contact you to request your permission to share your personal story to help make a difference in the health reform debates.  If you have any questions or concerns, please call Suzanne at (410)235-9000.  To share your story click here and type away.

In our last bit of tech things to pass along, if you would like to hear a 30 minute interview our own Vinny DeMarco did recently on WESM on the Eastern Shore about current happenings in health care, speaking in depth about the Health Care for All proposal, and why reform is needed so badly click here.

Thanks!

We are very happy to report that in less than one year, we now have over 1100 organizations from across the state, including over 500 businesses that have endorsed our Health Care for All plan.  Very exciting news and it would not have been a possibility without all of your great help.  We cannot thank you enough for the help contacting groups, sending us leads, helping us connect with new organizations, etc. Keep em' coming!  As we have done together in the past we can build the strongest grassroots coalitions to make sure we see the change we all are mutually striving for.  So, with that, help us out, find us on Facebook, write a quick story, and come celebrate with us at the two upcoming events.

Matt, Vinny, Rosanna, Suzanne, Brooke and all of our wonderful interns and volunteers
