We have some really exciting news to share: Dr. Drew
Pinsky, a nationally renowned drug abuse expert, has joined the
Stop Medicine Abuse campaign.
Dr.
Drew has years of experience helping people with substance abuse
problems enter recovery — now he's working to emphasize
that it's just as important to talk about
preventing substance abuse before it starts. To
help achieve this goal, Dr. Drew is in Washington, D.C. today
meeting with the Five
Moms and key legislators on Capitol Hill to talk
about ways we can work together to address the problem of
over-the-counter cough medicine abuse among teens.
Visit StopMedicineAbuse.org
to hear directly from Dr. Drew about why he is
involved in this campaign and how parents can make a
difference in the fight against cough medicine abuse. And stay
tuned over the coming months for a series of videos featuring
tips and advice on this important issue from Dr. Drew himself.
While we would like to thank Dr. Drew for joining our
cause, we would also like to extend a thank you to each of you
who have already made such a tremendous impact during National
Medicine Abuse Awareness Month. But our work isn't done —
there are still 12 days remaining on the Tell-A-Friend
Challenge, which means there is plenty of time to continue
spreading the word to as many parents as you can!
Sincerely,
The Stop Medicine Abuse Team and the Five
Moms
