Remember when you first heard that one in 10 teens
reports having abused over-the-counter cough medicines to get
high? Do you have some friends with teens in their homes who may
be as surprised as you were?
We are hoping you can continue your efforts to help us
raise awareness about the dangers of teenage cough medicine
abuse with a special challenge throughout the month of October.
Recently, the U.S. Senate introduced an initiative designating
October as National Medicine Abuse Awareness Month. We hope that
you — as a Five Moms supporter — will join us in
this important cause.
We are trying to reach as many parents as possible, and so we
are asking you to use the Tell-A-Friend
tool at StopMedicineAbuse.org
to help us educate parents about the dangerous trend of teens
who abuse cough medicine to get high. The three participants who
encourage the most people to join our campaign during the month
of October will win a new Flip MinoHD Camcorder. For more
information, check out the official
rules and regulations on our web site.
We appreciate all of the hard work you are doing to help
raise awareness among parents about the dangers of cough
medicine abuse. So far, we've already reached over 25 million
people. Without your help, we would never have gotten our
message out to as many parents as we already have. Thank you for
continued support and involvement—and good luck!
Sincerely
Christy, Becky, Misty, Hilda and Blaise
