To be precise, 173,045,325 people stood up and took action to end poverty now. We thank you for your support for the Millenium Development Goals. People all over the world were inspired to make a commitment and send a powerful message to leaders that we want the MDGs to be realized and to end poverty now. You can and do make a difference!

citizens gathered at over 3,000 events in more than 120
countries, demanding that their governments eradicate extreme
poverty and achieve the Millennium Development Goals. Stand Up,
Take Action, End Poverty Now, has been certified by Guinness
World Records as the new world record and remains the largest
mobilization of human beings in recorded history.
