A 40-day Reflection on our Relationship with God's Creation

We honor God when we take steps to foster an environment that promotes healthy living for creation and for each other.  When we disregard the importance of a world that is clean and safe, however, our bodily temples suffer, and we fall short in honoring our creator.

Human Health, Pollution and Toxics:  Part 2
On Monday we considered the dangers of chemicals in items we use in our daily lives.  Each of us can do our best to avoid purchasing products that use harmful chemicals, but we cannot simply buy our way out of this problem.  Products we take off the grocery store shelf and put into our carts come to us by way of a complex system of production, marketing and transportation, and at every stage toxic chemicals may pose a threat to factory workers, truckers, rivers and streams.  Elected officials must update current policy to prevent the use of toxic chemicals in the manufacture of personal care products, and better regulate the import of products that may contain toxic ingredients.
