Help ensure a clean energy future for all of Colorado
We have a chance to make sure Colorado's 2nd largest energy provider is required to provide clean energy solutions, not just meeting demand by adding new dirty coal plants. We are asking the PUC to take a hard look at Tri-State's resource planning from day one to ensure Tri-State's energy choices are in the best interest of its customers, and help the state move toward a clean energy future.
The Colorado Public Utility Commission (PUC) has asked for public comments by April 6 on whether or not the PUC should oversee the resource planning process for cooperative generation and transmission associations, the same way they oversee other energy utilities in the state.

Subject: Bring Tri-State into Colorado's new Energy Economy
Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,
These comments are in reference to Docket No. 09I-041E - In the Matter of Amendments to the Electric Resource Planning Rules.
As a Colorado citizen, I commend you on your progressive efforts thus far to ensure investor owned utilities meet the state's 20% Renewable energy standard and Governor Ritter's Climate Action plan.
Now is the time to use your existing authority to help direct the energy resource planning of cooperative generation and transmission association such as Tri-State Generation and Transmission from day one. Now is the time for Tri-State to ensure their customers have the ability to purchase renewable energy and to increase energy efficiency at their home, ranch or farm. Now is the time for you to make sure all utilities are working to meet the state's clean energy goals and Governor Ritter's popular climate action plan to reduce carbon output by 80% by the 2050.
Sincerely,
|
