Please take a minute to send a thank you note to Senator Michael Bennet for his hard work on the Senate climate change bill! 

As you know, studies show that supporting smart growth and providing more public transportation choices are two cost-effective ways to achieve greenhouse gas reductions while saving communities and consumers money. Despite this fact, the House version of the climate protection bill moving through Congress would allocate only 1% of the money to promote smart growth and transit.

Recently, we asked you to ask Senators Bennet and Udall to support an amendment that pushes for more money for these solutions, and your efforts paid off! After receiving many emails and encouragement from constituents like you, Senator Bennet threw his support behind an amendment that will make sure more of the money raised by the climate change bill goes to smart growth and clean transportation.

Senator Bennet's support for this amendment was instrumental in the great news we just received: the latest version of the Senate climate-protection bill will provide significantly more money for clean transportation and smart growth solutions! In fact, this new version more than doubles the funding from the House version of the bill!

So please, take a second to thank Senator Bennet for being a champ on this and for hearing your voice.
