The short explanation of this alert was:

The Bush administration is on the attack -- again. This time, it's with the nomination of Susan Dudley as administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA). OIRA is a White House agency that reviews everything from auto safety standards to limits on industrial chemicals and air and water pollutants.

At OIRA, Susan Dudley would have the power to significantly reduce or cripple the regulatory functions of the federal government. As director of regulatory studies at the industry-funded Mercatus Center, she opposed countless environmental, health and safety rules, including:

Dudley's nomination is likely to come to a full Senate vote sometime in December, according to Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), the committee chair.

Don't let the Republican lame duck flap its wings one last time: urge your Senator to vote "no" on Susan Dudley.
