The House just passed its version of the New GI Bill to give our veterans the education benefits they need, and the bill is headed back to the Senate for another vote before it reaches the President's desk. We have to keep up the pressure on John Cornyn, who was one of only 22 Senators to vote against the New GI Bill last month.
That's why our campaign is releasing a video featuring Rick and his fellow veterans, calling on John Cornyn to support the New GI Bill.
We're so close to passing the New GI Bill into law, and Cornyn still has a chance to do the right thing -- provide our veterans with the tools they need to succeed in civilian life after serving our nation.
Recently, the Senate voted 75-22 in favor of the bipartisan New GI Bill to cover full in-state tuition at public universities for veterans. This is fantastic news for our men and women in uniform, whose service should be honored with the education benefits they were promised.
