Selah Application 2008

The Selah Leadership Program trains a cross-section of leaders in Jewish and secular organizations to be effective, sustainable and collaborative agents for social change.  Selah provides unparalleled personal leadership training, skills to facilitate organizational change, and opportunities for social networking.  We are currently accepting applications for a new cohort.

Applications are due April 2, 2008.

PARTICIPATION IN SELAH:

Participation in Selah Cohort 5 is a six-month commitment.  Participants will meet together for two intensive multi-day trainings over a six-month period.  In between trainings, Cohort participants are responsible for completing monthly homework assignments that will take between 1 - 2 hours each month. To participate in Selah Cohort 5, you must commit to attend all training dates and times, as well as complete the monthly homework assignments.  We understand that you are likely an extremely busy person with a lot of responsibilities (one of the reasons you have been asked to apply!), and it may seem challenging to do this.   Please submit an application only if you are able and committed to attending all of the training dates and times below, and to completing the homework assignments.

Departure Time:  3:00 pm on December 9. The training ends promptly at 2:30 pm*.

*Please note:  We have found that our trainings are most effective when the group process is uninterrupted with people coming late and leaving early.  We require that Selah participants be present for the full retreat.  For that reason, please make sure to arrive with plenty of time to check in and get situated, and plan to stay for the duration of the training. Please make sure that your departure plan includes staying until the end of the training.

TUITION:

Selah is generously subsidized through a grant from The Nathan Cummings Foundation.  The cost of the Selah Leadership Program (both retreats) is on a sliding scale from $200 - $500, based on your organization’s budget.  Please see the scale below.  Cost includes room, board, materials, and all training.  It does not include travel.  We have a limited number of travel stipends available to those who would not be able to attend without financial support for travel.

Organizations rather than individuals are encouraged to pay for Selah.   No participant will be turned away due to financial constraints.
