The New York State Property Tax Commission issued its report on June 3rd.

The central recommendation is a property tax cap.

Governor Paterson is actively encouraging legislative passage of the property tax cap in the next couple of weeks left in the legislative session.

There are problems with the property tax cap proposal that deserve discussion. Passing the tax cap now would be hasty and irresponsible.
