Many Species of Great Cats and Rare Dogs and Wolves are in Danger of Vanishing!


Congress is about to debate the Great Cats and Rare Canids Act of 2007 -- H.R. 1464 and S. 1033.

These simple bills will enable the U.S. government to help save 15 of the world's species of great cats and wild canines. These magnificent predators, like clouded leopards, jaguars, and Asian wild dogs, are declining drastically due to habitat loss, poaching, disease, and conflict with humans for scarce resources.

This measure will guarantee critical American support for conservation work around the world, in the effort to reverse the continued devastating decline of these species, and prevent eventual extinction. And it will fund the work of organizations including Wildlife Alliance, who are working hard to protect wildlife on the front lines.
