Tell EPA Administrator Johnson to stop censoring documents & fight global warming!
The Senate Environment & Public Works Committee demanded that EPA Administrator Stephen Johnson explain his decision to reject an effort by California and 18 states to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and fight global warming. 11 days past its deadline, the EPA finally turned over some documents -- but provided heavily redacted and censored pages rather than the facts we deserve. The American people deserve to know why Administrator Johnson put politics over science and stopped 19 states from fighting global warming -- with no ifs, ands, buts...or white-out. Join %adv-participants-epa_censored% Americans and email EPA Administrator Stephen Johnson: Demand that he produce full, complete, and uncensored documents explaining his decision to block 19 states from fighting global warming now!
Dear [ Decision Maker ] , I urge you to produce full, complete, and uncensored documents explaining your decision to deny a request from California and 18 other states to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from automobiles. 11 days past its deadline, your agency turned over some documents to the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee -- but heavily redacted the materials to obscure the agency's real decision-making process, providing censored page after censored page rather than the facts we deserve. At a recent Senate Environment and Public Works Committee hearing, you refused to acknowledge that global warming is a threat to human health -- an embarrassing and dangerous response from the head of the EPA. You also failed to acknowledge any conflict between your recent behavior and prior assurances during your confirmation process that you would pursue as open and transparent a decision-making process as possible. It's clear that your agency is trying to keep these documents from the American people for one reason: They show that the EPA's legal and scientific staff unanimously agreed that California, and 18 other states, should be granted the waiver. We deserve a full, uncensored accounting of your decision to block more than 150 million Americans from combating climate change. I demand that you release all related documents immediately.
Sincerely, |
