Greetings,
How does
Creation Care Policy Impact Lutherans Living in Shishmareff,
Alaska?
How do your
actions affect others in your community, in your church, and
congregations in Shishmareff, Alaska? How does carpooling help people living on the
Seward Peninsula?
Is there a connection between my caring for creation and
what happens to Lutherans living in Shishmareff?
The Lutheran
Coalition for Public Policy in Minnesota (LCPPM) invites you to
hear Rev. David Wangaard, Bishop’s Associate in the
Minneapolis Area Synod, as he shares his recent sabbatical
experience working with congregations in the Shishmareff
area. His
presentation will jumpstart two evenings dedicated to the Caring
for God’s Creation:
Tuesday, October 27th at Saint Barnabas
Lutheran Church in Plymouth and Thursday, October
29th at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in
Burnsville. The second half of both
evenings will provide ideas and resources for you and/or your
creation care team to build on what you’re doing in your
congregations and communities.
7:00 to 8:00pm - How does Creation
Care Policy Impact People and Economy of Shishmareff?
Last winter, Rev.
David Wangaard, spent a month in Alaska working with working
with the bishop, pastors and congregational leaders to create a
mission strategy for Native Alaskan ministry. This was not Rev.
Wangaard’s first experience with Alaska or with Alaskan
winters; his first call had been to Teller
and Brevig Mission Lutheran Churches, Brevig Mission,
Alaska. Hear
his story and the story of Lutherans living with the effects of
climate change.
8:00 to 9:00 pm - Creation Care in
your Corner of the World
Join your
