Thank You Representative Oberstar!
On Thursday, March 27th, over a dozen candlelight vigils took place around the country. Sponsored by the National Council of Churches’ Eco-Justice Program, the vigils were grassroots efforts by people of faith to raise awareness that climate change is a moral issue close to the heart of the faith community and to call on our political leaders to take action for climate justice. Congress must take meaningful action to prevent catastrophic climate change and protect those living in poverty from the devastating impacts climate change will inevitably create.
If you were unable to attend the Minnesota vigil held in Duluth, please use this action alert as an opportunity to let U.S. Representative James L. Oberstar know he has the support of the faith community in Congressional District 8 for addressing climate change policies at the federal level. Read the statement he issued in response to the vigil.
